FAQ, shipping & returns

The short answers. Anything else, email [email protected] and we'll help.

The store

Is the store actually open?

Yes. shop.shopcoffee.com has real checkout, real products and real tracking numbers. Coffee makers, kettles, pour-over gear, manual espresso, and beans from independent roasters.

Who ships my order?

The brand that made it. Bonavita ships the Bonavita; the roaster ships the beans. We don't run a warehouse. You check out once with us and get tracking by email.

How can I pay?

Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), plus Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Prices are in US dollars. Checkout runs on Shopify; we never see your card number.

I ordered from two brands. Will it come in one box?

No. Each brand ships its own items, so you may get two boxes on two days, each with its own tracking number.

Shipping

How fast does it ship?

Most brands ship within 1–3 business days. Some of our roasters roast to order, which can add a day or two. You get tracking as soon as a box leaves.

What does shipping cost?

Whatever the brand really charges, calculated at checkout. Today that runs from free (several brands) to about $10 within the US. We don't pad it.

How long until it arrives?

Most brands have a box out the door within 1–3 business days (roast-to-order roasters can add a day or two), then ordinary ground shipping from the maker to you, which is typically another 2–5 days inside the US. Plan on about a week door to door, often faster. Tracking lands in your email the moment it ships.

Where do you ship?

The United States only, for now. We don't ship outside the US yet, since every order ships from the brand that made it and none of them ships abroad through us. If that changes, this line will say so first. The guides are free to read from anywhere.

Coffee

How fresh is the coffee?

It ships from the roaster's own roastery rather than from a distributor's shelf, which is the biggest freshness win there is. Roast schedules differ by roaster; where a roaster states they roast to order, the product page says so. Coffee is at its best within a few weeks of roasting: keep the bag sealed, cool and out of the light. More on freshness.

Whole bean or ground?

Depends on the roaster; options are on each product page. If you can, buy whole bean and grind right before brewing. It's the cheapest upgrade in coffee. Best home coffee grinders.

What is The Daily?

Our own coffee, not for sale yet. It has to be roasted the day it ships with the roast date printed on the bag, and we won't put the name on anything less. Get on the list.

Do you sell subscriptions?

Not yet. If you want one today, our subscription guide covers the services worth paying for.

Returns

Can I return gear?

Yes: 30 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging. Email [email protected] with your order number and we send the return instructions for that brand. Return shipping is yours unless the item arrived damaged or wrong.

Can I return coffee?

Unopened bags within 14 days. Opened coffee can't be restocked, but if a bag arrives damaged or tastes wrong, send a photo and we replace it. No argument. Full wording: returns policy.

The guides

Do you make money from the guides?

Yes, and we say how. Nobody pays us for a review. Some links earn a small commission, some picks are things we sell ourselves, and neither moves a ranking. When a pick is cheaper elsewhere, the guide tells you. Full disclosure.
