The box carries the maker's packing slip, not a gift note, so a text from you beats the surprise.

Whole bean or ground?

Whole bean if they own a grinder; it keeps longer and tastes better. If they don't, pick the grind for their brewer where the bag offers one: drip, pour-over, espresso or French press.

When should I order for December 25?

Makers ship within about a week. For December 25, order by December 15 to be safe. Beans are roasted close to when they ship, so ordering early does not mean stale coffee.

Can I add a gift note or wrapping?

Not yet. Each maker packs its own box and the slip inside is theirs. A note from you by text or card does the job.

What if they'd rather have something else?

Returns follow the store's policy, which you can read at checkout. Beans are perishable and are not returnable once opened.
