The shop is open: gear and fresh beans, shipped by the brand that made them
ShopCoffee
Our story

A guy in Colorado who got tired of bad coffee advice.

I run ShopCoffee from Castle Pines, Colorado. I live on the Front Range, I drink too much coffee, and I started ShopCoffee because buying coffee gear online had turned into scrolling past four hundred identical kettles with made-up brand names. So I wrote the guides I wished existed. Then I opened a store that only carries what the guides would send you to anyway.

Two hands around a stoneware mug on a cabin porch rail, pine forest and mountains behind, a kraft bag of The Daily beside it

Guides first. Store second.

The buying guides came first and they still run the place. They say what we know, what we don't, and where a manufacturer's claim is just a claim. When a guide's pick is cheaper somewhere else, the guide says so. Nobody pays us for a review. Some picks are things we sell ourselves, and the disclosure page has the rest. None of it moves a ranking.

How the store works

Everything in the store ships straight from the brand that made it: Bonavita ships the Bonavita, the roaster ships the beans. There's no ShopCoffee warehouse, because a warehouse is where coffee goes to get old and where gear gets mixed up with phone cases. You check out once with us, the maker packs the box, and if anything goes sideways you email one address and a person fixes it.

What we won't do

The Daily

The Daily is our own coffee, and it isn't for sale yet. The bar is simple and annoying to clear: roasted the day it ships, roast date printed on the bag. Until a roaster signs up to that in writing, the name stays on the shelf. Get on The Daily list and you'll hear first.
